How the treatment window works

The 24โ€“120 hour rule

Treatment must be given no earlier than 120 hours (5 days) and no later than 24 hours before arrival at the UK/IE/FI/MT border โ€” not departure. Times matter.

Vaccination status does not replace tapeworm rules

The tapeworm requirement is separate from rabies vaccination history. If your route is not exempt, it must be completed again for each trip.

Vet-administered only โ€” OTC products don't count

Must be an approved praziquantel-based product administered and recorded by a vet in your pet passport or Animal Health Certificate.
